Wings of Opportunity
Sponsored Training for a Career as a Professional Helicopter Pilot.
Flight training, mentorship, and job placement support for young underprivileged adults — from the first lesson through FAA certification and on to the flight deck.
Initial Objectives
Removing the barrier between talent and the cockpit.
Our aviation scholarship initiative aims to provide meaningful flight training opportunities to young underprivileged adults interested in professional helicopter aviation.
- Provide professional flight instruction and aviation mentorship
- Develop a structured training plan aligned with the student's experience and FAA certification requirements
- Prepare students for employment as professional helicopter pilots through career planning, industry introductions, and interview readiness

Training aircraft: Robinson R44, instrument-equipped.
Career Placement
Training is the beginning. A career is the goal.
A certificate on its own doesn't hire a pilot. Every scholarship is built with the flight deck in mind — the hours, the ratings, and the professional relationships that turn a student into a working professional helicopter pilot.
Career pathway planning
From the first lesson, a student's training plan is mapped toward a target job — the ratings, hours, and experience employers actually ask for.
Ratings and flight time
A structured route from Private to Commercial, Instrument, and instructor ratings, so students reach the qualifications professional helicopter operators hire against.
Professional readiness
Résumé and logbook review, interview practice, checkride preparation, and guidance on building the safety record employers look for.
Employer introductions
We aim to connect graduates with helicopter operators, flight schools, charter and tour companies, and aviation employers across Tennessee, Kentucky, and Ohio.
Mentor network
Working pilots and aviation professionals who advise students on hiring expectations, career moves, and landing that first job.
Placement follow-through
Support continues after the certificate — job leads, references, and help navigating applications and interviews.
